I met with my second case study for my documentary, Meg Gibson, on 4th December 2017. Like Jake, she also suffers with Kleine-Levin Syndrome, however her story is much different.
Meg knows what triggers her episodes, her symptoms are different and her episodes, she believes, happen for a certain amount of time at a set time.
In my previous blog post about interviewing Jake, I explained that I wanted to learn more about the condition by discovering something dark and moving, and this interview gave me just that. Kleine-Levin Syndrome is something that is close to Meg's heart, and it is evident throughout the interview as it became emotional and tense, something you will discover when the documentary is complete.
In my final product and finished documentary, I really want to be able to contrast the difference between Jake and Meg. Every patient is different, and I really hope to portray this between them both in my documentary by showing the feelings they have towards KLS, their symptoms and individually their support systems.
