Over the weekend, I reached out to Jake (who has KLS) and Beck Renouf, son and daughter of Helen, author of the blog Kleine-Levin Syndrome.

We have arranged to meet on Thursday 16th November in the Media School at university in the late afternoon to discuss my documentary in more detail. I have booked a radio studio and planned interview questions, so that if Jake and Beck are happy to continue with me and my project, that I can interview and record them there and then. This way I can begin editing audio into clips to see what will fit well in my documentary and if I need any extra, I will be able to contact them again.

As I mentioned, I have planned my interview questions already. Whilst there are quite a few and they are very structured, I’m hoping that during the interview I will be able to ask more questions and get more detail from both Jake and Beck, depending on the content that they talk about. You can see my planned interview questions here.

Something that I must remember when interviewing them, Jake in particular, is to be sensitive towards them and Jake's condition. I do not want to offend them and make them feel uncomfortable, which is why I will give Jake and Beck a chance to read the questions first to ensure they are comfortable with what is being asked.
