On Friday 20th October, I had to pitch my radio documentary idea to my lecturers. The idea of this is to tell them what my Major Multimedia Project (MMP) will entail in order to get feedback on what they think is good, what would need improvement and anything they may add to the documentary.

The pitch had to discuss what my topic was, what KLS is, my target audience, if the documentary was broadcast what radio station would be suitable, and the discourse structure the documentary will be formatted in.

Overall, I think the pitch went really well. I felt that I was confident in what I was delivering and the feedback that was provided was really helpful.

Feedback:

  • Try to interview someone who has recovered from KLS to contrast the story I am telling

  • As I already have some compelling interviews, try to create some distinctive audio that will suit this

  • Do not swamp the documentary with audio, use it carefully and sparingly

If you would like to see a copy of my pitch, you can read it here.

UPDATE

I found out that I got a first for my pitch, which I am so pleased about! All the hard work has paid off and I can now get started on my documentary officially.
